House Sponsorship by Corporations and Groups

Flower City Habitat for Humanity builds about 10 homes per year. Various organizations sponsor houses by providing a combination of direct funding, in-kind donations of materials and services and volunteer labor. House sponsors include corporations large and small, professional and community organizations, foundations and individuals. In many cases, several sponsors combine forces to fund a home.
Sponsorship Levels
Full sponsorship
It costs $75,000 to build a one-story three or four bedroom home. Larger corporations, individuals and foundations often fully fund homes. The Harley School, Greater Rochester Association of Realtors, ACES (architects and engineers) and Rochester Fire Fighters are among the organizations that have recently sponsored homes.
Partial sponsorship
To be acknowledged as a house sponsor, an organization must contribute a minimum of $10,000. When a house is not fully sponsored, Flower City Habitat for Humanity recruits other partial sponsors to complete the funding. Recent sponsors in this category include Excellus, Citigroup Foundation, Lowe's, M&T Bank Foundation, J P Morgan Chase, High Falls Brewing Company and the Daisy Marquis Jones Foundation.
Benefits of Sponsorship
- Identification with a particular house project and Habitat family.
- Allocation of volunteer slots based on percentage of sponsorship.
Note: If a sponsor cannot provide all the volunteers based on its allocation, Habitat has plenty of people who are willing to volunteer!
- Participation in the groundbreaking and wall-raising ceremonies, and in the dedication ceremory.
