About the Project
It takes 4 to 4-1/2 months to build a 3 or 4 bedroom one-story home of 1,100 to 1,400 square feet. Each home is equipped with the following:
- ADT Security System
- Concrete driveway
- Front porch and back porch/patio
- Refrigerator, stove, furnace, hot water heater, full bath
- One storm/screen door
- Choice of color for siding, trim, carpet and vinyl flooring
- Mailbox
- Temporary fence at rear of backyard
Typical Construction Plan
The following table lists typical construction tasks by week. Construction work is subject to change due to a variety of factors. Patience and flexibility on the part of sponsor volunteers is appreciated, and helps the tasks flow smoothly.
