In-Kind Donations
By identifying and soliciting In-Kind Donations (building materials and/or services) for your Habitat project, you will be able to reduce your final cash commitment to the project. FCHH credits every In-Kind donation of goods or services toward your final sponsorship payment.
The most productive ways to solicit material and service donations are through personal contact and networking.
SPECIAL NOTE:
Please respect Habitat's "Do Not Solicit " list. These businesses are already supporting Flower City Habitat for Humanity.
Guidelines
- All donated materials must be new and meet specifications. (See Full List of Materials.)
- Written statements as to the kinds and quantities of materials and/or services to be donated are necessary, so that Habitat can be aware of them and plan accordingly. (See sample Letter of Commitment.)
- Major material deliveries must be coordinated with the construction schedule, as Habitat has little storage capacity. Call Bill Bartlett, Construction Manager, to make arrangements: (585) 546-1470, Ext. 307.
- Dollar credit is earned only for the services for which Habitat currently contracts labor. A sponsor may earn dollar credit by soliciting a donation of excavation, driveway box-out or roofing services. Please refer to our Approved Services List or contact Bill Bartlett, Construction Manager.
- Close coordination with Habitat is essential to determine the suitability of potential material and service donations and the dollar value to be credited to your project.
- The dollar value at which Habitat will assess donated materials and services is typically equal to wholesale cost.
- Donations cannot be applied beyond the current sponsor year.
