Women Build
Since 1991, Women Build volunteers from all walks of life have come together to build stronger, safer communities with Habitat affiliates around the world. Each year in Rochester, teams of women (and a handful of men) combine their fundraising efforts and volunteer build days to make another Habitat home possible.
Any woman who wants to learn how to build and construct a home is invited to join us — no experience is necessary. Volunteers work under the guidance of construction professionals, and alongside other volunteers and future Habitat homeowners. Whether you are learning new skills or simply adding a few to your tool belt, Women Build is a rewarding experience for all involved, and improves the community that we share. |
How to participate in Women Build 2023
This year's house:
Women Build 2023 is here and we are building our 19th Habitat home in Rochester! This year's house is a 3 bedroom, 1.5 bath, new home being built at 535 Hayward Avenue. The importance of teams: Women Build teams are central to the Women Build program, it's how we raise money for a new Habitat home each year, and it's how we schedule most of the construction shifts on this house! Teams can be co-workers, friends, family, neighbors, or members of the same congregation or interest group. Everyone sets their best fundraising and volunteering goals, and together we build a house!
